Mr Stanyer, who was at work at the time of the fire in Ogmore Close in Tilehurst, added: "She will be sorely missed and the support we are receiving is giving us the strength to get through the days.
"Words cannot express how much she will be missed."
Ms Stanyer, who had to be treated for smoke inhalation after the fire, said: "I cannot believe this has happened. It is such a shock.
"Family and friends have been great at this time and we both really appreciate everything."
Mrs Stanyer, who worked for the Royal Berkshire and Battle Hospitals NHS Trust, died from her burns at the Royal Berkshire Hospital itself at 1415 GMT on Thursday.
'Cheerful and helpful'
Ann Sheen, the trust's acting chief executive, said: "Angela had worked for the trust for more than 10 years - most recently as part of the Berkshire Cancer Centre.
"She was always cheerful and helpful, and above all found satisfaction in her
one-to-one dealings with patients."
The arrested man is currently in hospital under police guard and will be interviewed when he
is well enough.
Officers have also appealed for four young men who were spotted in the area at the time of the fire to come forward.
