Police are investigating how a teenager fell from the back of a bus in Cannock, Staffordshire, and was seriously injured.
It is believed the 16-year-old got off the bus with two friends early on Saturday, but then jumped on the back of the single-decker vehicle.
He rode it briefly before falling into the road, sustaining head and arm injuries.
The driver had to be traced as he was unaware of the accident, say police.
