Investigation launched into flood
A huge clean-up operation is under way in Gainsborough after heavy rain flooded more than a hundred homes and businesses.

It is thought the drainage system was unable to cope in the Park Springs area of the town where people experienced the biggest problems.

Severn Trent is investigating whether the drains were blocked.

Residents are demanding to know why their homes were flooded out, twice in a week.

Julie Ann Johnson, who lives on Fillingham Close said: "We've just got to wait until the assessors come to see what we can throw out and what we can't.

"They came and cleaned the drains out yesterday (Friday), if they'd have done it on Tuesday, everyone wouldn't have lost what they've worked for."
