A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being attacked in a kebab shop.
The incident took place between 0100 and 0120 BST on Friday in Millennium Kebabs, High Street, Bedford.
A 32-year-old visitor to the town was out with a friends when he became involved in an argument with two men, who were also in the kebab house.
A physical struggle broke out between the men and it spilled out on to the pavement, police said.
The unnamed victim suffered serious head injuries and the other men ran off.
The victim was taken to South Wing Hospital, but later transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Greyfriars Police Station or Crimestoppers.
