Louise presents the news with Jon Sopel from 1600 to 1900 on Monday to Friday on BBC News 24

Louise was born in Hong Kong and has a degree in Spanish from St Andrews University.

She started her career in journalism in the Latin American section of the BBC World Service and then moved on to the Today Programme.

After completing a post-graduate diploma in Radio Journalism, she then worked as a reporter for BBC Radio Berkshire and Fox FM in Oxford.

Her first job as a presenter was at News Direct 97.3FM in London. She then went to work for Channel Five's entertainment programme Exclusive, and also worked as a reporter for Five News.

After re-joining the BBC in 1998, Louise started presenting for both BBC News 24 and Five Live.

On Five Live she has presented Drive, Sport on Five and Breakfast. She started her current job on BBC News 24 in September 2003.

Louise presented In The Know with Jon Inverdale on BBC One in the summer of 2004 during the Athens Olympics.
