Two held after police car crash

Two men have been arrested after two police officers were injured when their patrol car was hit head-on.

The suspects are aged 25 and 27 and both from Basingstoke, Hampshire.

The officers, aged 26 and 29, were waiting in a marked BMW police car at a junction in Worting Road, Basingstoke, when they were hit by another vehicle.

They are both now recovering from whiplash injuries. Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the crash on Monday at 2045 GMT.
