Go-ahead for five-screen cinema

Plans for a new five-screen cinema in Didcot, south Oxfordshire, are expected to be given the go-head.

The 900-seater Cine-UK multiplex, to be built on the site of a council car park on Station Road, has been recommended for councillors' approval.

The cinema is part of the new Orchard Centre development for the town square.

Granted outline planning permission in 2001, the state-of-the art Orchard complex includes shops, restaurants, housing and an arts centre.
