Man, 37, dies in church car park

A 37-year-old local man has died in Nuneaton after the car he was driving hit a church gate.

Police said Darren James Robins was leaving the church car park on Church Lane in Weddington, at about 1430 GMT on Tuesday at the time of the crash.

He hit the gate at low speed and died at the scene. Police do no think any other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Warwickshire Police.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out on Wednesday.
