Seven excluded under new powers
Seven people have been excluded from the Kirkley area of Lowestoft since police were given new powers in July.

Police have also moved on eighteen people since the first dispersal order in the county came into force on 15 July.

Officers have used the order six times with seven people ordered to stay out of the area for 24 hours.

Anyone defying the orders can be jailed for up to six months and face a fine of up to £5,000.

A Lowestoft police spokesman said the first month had gone well and the order will last six months.

There have been no arrests but initial figures indicated that incidents of anti-social behaviour involving groups in the area were down.
