Man sought for assaults on women
Police in Newquay are investigating assaults on two women in just two days in the town.

The first incident happened at 0220 BST on Thursday when a man grabbed a 24-year-old on Edgecumbe Road from behind and to tried drag her up the road.

She screamed and the man ran off in the general direction of Elliot Gardens.

At 0215 BST on Friday, a 16-year-old girl was accosted by a man in Tolcarne Road, but she managed to struggle free from him.

Police, who are linking the two incidents, have issued a description of a man given to them by the 24-year-old woman.

He is described as in his mid-20s, stocky and firm build, with a clean-shaven face, wearing a dark T shirt, dark trousers and a black baseball cap.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We do not want to frighten women in the area, but suggest that they arrange for lifts home or to walk home in groups."
