Police searching for a missing father-of-three have found the body of a man hanging from a tree on the outskirts of a County Durham village.
Officers had been carrying out house-to-house inquiries to find a man who left home in Tow Law on Monday.
Search and rescue volunteers and the police helicopter were called in to help search quarries and woods.
A Durham Police spokesman said the victim would be named later, but there were no suspicious circumstances.
The missing man, in his mid-30s, had apparently left home after an argument with his wife.
The find was made by a beat officer as police searched a wooded area of the road towards Cornsay Colliery, in County Durham.
