Collision with car kills cyclist

A 22-year-old cyclist has been killed after he was in a collision with a car in East Sussex.

The victim was with two other cyclists travelling along Harbour Road in Rye when he crashed with a Ford Escort going in the same direction.

Police said the cyclist died at the scene of the accident which happened on Thursday just after 2000 BST.

The car driver, a 42-year-old woman, from Hythe in Kent, was uninjured but left very shaken by the incident.
