Missing Alzheimer patient found

Mr Elliot was found in Manchester city centre
A man who went missing after recently being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease has been found safe and well.

Clifford Elliot, 66 of Brigsteer Walk, Collyhurst, disappeared for nearly 24 hours.

His family had been concerned as he left home without his medication and feared he would be confused or scared.

Mr Elliot had been last seen on Monday afternoon, but on Tuesday police said he had been found in Manchester city centre.

Greater Manchester Police said he was later reunited with his family and was "safe and well".

He Elliott had last been seen by his son, who called on him at home at 1330 GMT on Monday.

He then found him missing when he called back at 1600 GMT and alerted police.
