Lanes become more user-friendly
country lane
Two country lanes will be made more user-friendly
Two quiet country lanes are to be improved so that they are more user-friendly.

The rural lanes in Sutton Bonington, Nottinghamshire are being transformed to create a better environment for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

There will be improved lay-bys and park benches for picnic spots and signs asking motorists to drive slowly.

The roads will also be resurfaced with brown tarmac to give the area a more rural feel.

The aim is to reduce the high volume of motorists using rural lanes in the area.

If the pilot scheme is successful then other authorities may follow suit.
