An insurance wrangle which threatened to halt the start of the season for a Northumberland non-league football team has been resolved.
Wansbeck Council had threatened to lock Bedlington Terriers out of their ground saying the club did not have public liability insurance.
But at a meeting between the council and club on Thursday night, the club produced the necessary documents.
The Terriers' game will now go ahead on Saturday against Esh Winning.
Terriers' manager Keith Perry said earlier in the week that they were determined the matter would be resolved before the opening fixture on Saturday in the First Division of the Albany Northern League.
He described the situation as "a farce" and added: "It's very disillusioning. Everyone is trying to play and be bullish about the start of the season. It hasn't been the best preparation."
