A mother of three from Amersham and a mother and son from Hatfield were among the five people mourned at a memorial ceremony in Austria on Friday.

Clare Patel, 39, died despite doctors' attempts to save her. Her husband and three children were hurt in the crash.

Pensioner Marion Ashby, 80, and her son, Robert, 60, were also among the people who died.

About 25 family members joined 200 local people, officials and rescue workers for a service in Hallein.

The Patels, Mrs Ashby and her son and 33-year-old David Hamilton, from Bournemouth, were killed when the coach crashed at Bad Duerrnberg near Hallein, south of Salzburg, on Tuesday.

At Friday's ceremony, Mayor of Hallein, Christian Stockl, said: "The people of Hallein share the grief and sorrow of the relatives.

"I wish you much strength to withstand this tragic accident. "

A minibus driver has been charged with causing death by negligence.
