Ruling due on tram strike
Metrolink tram
The drivers are angry they are not represented in negotiations
There is to be a fresh bid to resolve a dispute on Manchester's tram network that has led to two walkouts.

The Trade Unions Congress (TUC) is set to rule on the dispute over union recognition for Metrolink workers.

Aslef members are angry the company only recognises members of the Transport and General Workers' Union (T&G) during negotiations.

The TUC disputes committee, which has with the unions involved, is due to make an announcement on Thursday.

Metrolink services in Manchester have been disrupted twice after two 24-hour stoppages on New Year's Day and 27 January.

If the dispute is not resolved, further strikes are likely.
