Chris Tarrant
Chris Tarrant hosts the "Millionaire" quiz show
Fanatical supporters of Celtic football club are being offered the chance to win £1m on a popular TV quiz show.

About 180 Hoops fans are set to sit opposite quizmaster Chris Tarrant on the first ever Celtic Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, to be held in March.

The show will not be televised but fans who know their history will have the chance to win the top prize.

Callers to a phoneline will be quizzed on Celtic trivia to win what has been billed as the weekend of a lifetime.

Fastest finger first

David McNally, marketing director for Celtic, said: "This is a very exciting initiative and we are sure the concept will prove extremely popular with the supporters."

The 180 fans chosen will be flown to London and taken on a tour of the Millionaire studio in Elstree, Hertfordshire, by Tarrant.

They will take part in a "fastest finger first" round with the quickest getting the chance to sit in the hot seat opposite Tarrant - 15 questions away from becoming a millionaire.

The fans will also be treated to a VIP morning at the Parkhead home of their club, which includes a champagne breakfast and tour.

Tarrant said: "I'm looking forward to welcoming Celtic and the 180 lucky supporters to what I'm sure will be an amazing show."

The show will be held on 20 March and Celtic fans can phone 0906 200 1888 for their chance to take part, with some profits from calls being pumped back into Parkhead.

Programme-makers Celador are to produce similar shows for fans of Arsenal FC and Manchester United.
