Bridget Riedl-Laing was on holiday with her three children

Police in Austria have re-opened an investigation into the death of a Scottish mother who drowned while canoeing on a Peruvian river.
Bridget Reidl-Laing, originally from Cupar in Fife, was swept away when her canoe overturned last year.
She was on an adventure holiday with her husband and three young children.
Her father George Halford, from Dalgety Bay in Fife, said he would be very surprised if her death turned out to be anything other than a tragic accident.
Mrs Reidl-Laing and her family - husband Rupert and their children Yannik, Fabio and Olivia - were in Peru as part of an eight-month adventure holiday to the Americas.

We cannot believe that it is anything other than a tragic accident

She drowned after their boat capsized on the river Vilcanota on 12 March last year.
Police in Salzburg confirmed that they were investigating the accident.
It is understood that her husband has been questioned as part of that inquiry.
Mrs Reidl-Laing's father said the investigation had come as a shock to the whole family.
However, he said they were confident that it would not reveal anything suspicious.
"I am just concerned for the effect on the children and the trauma on Bridget's husband.
"I cannot believe that it is anything other than a tragic accident."
