Oscar bid for West film
The Triplets of Belleville
The film was co-produced by the BBC in Bristol
A film co-produced in the west Country has been nominated for two Oscars.

The Triplets of Belleville is shortlisted in the Best Animated Film and Best Music categories.

Known as Belleville Rendezvous in Britain, the French film tells the story of an orphan who is kidnapped while competing in the Tour de France.

It was co-produced by BBC Bristol, along with several other European companies.

The film has already won several awards and will now be judged against the movie industry's finest.

The song The Triplets of Belleville has also been nominated in the best Music Song category.

The ceremony takes place in Hollywood on 29 February.
