Rape victim's 'I love you' ordeal

Antoni Imiela denies nine counts of rape against women and girls

A man accused of rape told his victim to say she loved him as he attacked her, a court has heard.

The woman told Maidstone Crown Court her attacker also asked if she was a virgin and where she came from.

Antoni Imiela, 49, from Appledore near Ashford in Kent, denies raping the woman in August 2002.

He also denies eight other counts of rape and further charges of kidnap, indecent assault and attempted rape on a girl aged 10.

'An angry voice'

The woman, who was 26 at the time of the attack in Epsom, Surrey, told the trial she was walking home from a bus stop when a man grabbed her from behind.

She told the court: "He just said 'don't scream'. It was an angry voice - not shouting but aggressive."

The woman said she had not been able to see the attacker's face as he dragged her towards nearby woods.

She said he hit her "a couple of times" and was armed with a knife.

The woman said: "I was trying to scream and he told me not to.

"He said he would kill me if I screamed."

The woman told the court her attacker felt her breasts and ripped her top off, putting the top over her eyes to stop her looking at him.

She said the man told her "I never do this without a condom" before raping her.

Left tied up

She told the jury: "I kept telling him not to kill me.

"He asked if I was a virgin and I didn't answer. He asked me to say that I loved him."

The court heard the man also put his tongue in the woman's mouth and made conversation about where she was from.

He then left her tied up after the rape, with instructions to give him time to get away before moving.

Mr Imiela denies nine counts of rape against five woman and three girls aged between 10 and 16-years-old, said to have happened in 2001 and 2002 in London, Kent, Surrey, Berkshire and Hertfordshire.

He also denies the kidnap, indecent assault and attempted rape on a girl aged 10 in Birmingham.
