A woman has been jailed for four-and-a-half years for attacking a 60-year-old woman with a meat cleaver-style knife.
Ranjit Kaur, 42, of Broadmark Road, Slough, Berkshire, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing to assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.
The attack happened in June 2003, when Kaur went to the Slough home of a long-standing friend of her husband, but refused to leave.
Kaur used the meat-cleaver to hit the 60-year-old from behind, causing deep lacerations to the woman's head, neck and left hand, before leaving her lying injured.
She was later arrested at her home in Broadmark Road.
Her victim still needs medical treatment and physiotherapy for her injuries.
