Staff protest at school closure
Education protest in Bristol
Staff at the school fear it will close
The staff of a Bristol school have taken to the streets to protest against its closure.

Teachers at St Thomas More Catholic school in Horfield held a peaceful protest outside the city council's headquarters on Wednesday morning.

The school escaped a threat of closure after the city council offered it a new home at a site in Lockleaze last year.

But a leaked letter from the Clifton diocese suggested the plan would be shelved because the cost was too high.

The letter suggested it would take a £750,000 investment to make the new site habitable.

About 50 staff and supporters walked out of work on Wednesday in order to demonstrate outside the council building on College Green.

The city council has said no decision has yet been made about the future of St Thomas More School.
