Vandals attack swimming pool

The health suite of a public swimming pool in Cornwall has had to be closed after it was attacked by vandals for a second time.

Officers at North Cornwall District Council say vandals smashed two of windows at the Splash Pool in Bude on Saturday night.

They estimate the damage will cost more than £800 to be repaired.

It is the second such incident within a month.

On Boxing Day one of the centre's roof windows was smashed.

The suite was totally refurbished in June 2002, at a cost of more than £35,000.

Council officers are calling on anyone in the community who has information about the incident to contact Police or Crimestoppers.
