Hunt for Vicky proves successful

The Severn Valley Railway (SVR) has found two people called Victoria Bridge to reopen an old bridge of the same name.

More than £300,000 has been spent revamping the bridge which the company plans to reopen on 2 April.

SVR was searching for anyone with the same name and said it did not mind whether Vicky or Victoria Bridge was a child or a pensioner.

The 140-year-old cast iron bridge carries the railway across the River Severn, near Arley in Worcestershire.

SVR spokesman John Leach said the firm had been checking telephone directories and the internet.

He said the search would continue, but it had been a good start.

SVR runs steam trains for tourists and enthusiasts over the 16 miles between Kidderminster in Worcestershire and Bridgnorth in Shropshire.
