Body of missing man found
Police in Cumbria have found the body of an elderly man missing for almost 24 hours.

Officers say the body of 70-year-old Gordon Walker was discovered at Eamont Bridge, near Penrith on Tuesday.

Mr Walker vanished from his home on Hutton Hill on Monday.

Mr Walker disappeared in the early hours of Monday and is thought to have spent the night out of doors in sub-zero temperatures.

Officers said he went missing between 0400 GMT and 0600 GMT.

The last confirmed sighting of the pensioner was at about 0545 GMT at Friargate.

A search is continuing for missing Maryport man Allan Thomas Sherriff, who disappeared on January 16.
