Man jailed after robbing elderly
A robber who preyed on elderly women in Gloucestershire has been jailed for seven years.

Andrew Budds also known as Andrew Cook, 38, of Edinburgh Place, Cheltenham, pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery at Gloucester Crown Court.

He asked for a further four and a common assault charge to be taken into consideration.

The offences all took place between 29 December 2003 and 12 January in the Hester's Way area of Cheltenham.

The court heard how Budds had grabbed a 70-year-old woman by the throat, before pinning her to her seat and stealing her bag.

Detective Sergeant Danny Casey, of Gloucestershire Police, said: "We are very pleased that such a dangerous man, who targeted vulnerable, elderly women, has been jailed."
