Appeal to identify man
Police are appealing for help to identify an elderly man found beside the A6003 between Kettering and Corby in Northamptonshire.

The man was found on the northbound carriageway at about 1015 GMT on Monday in a confused state and suffering from hypothermia. He is currently being treated in hospital.

Police have so far been unable to identify him; no-one has been reported missing in the area.

He is thought to be between 70 and 75 years old and is white and about 5ft 10in tall with a slim-to-medium build.

He has whitish-grey hair around the side of his head and is bald on top. The man also has no top teeth, very pale blue eyes and nicotine stains on his right index finger, so he probably is, or has been, a smoker.

He has an 8in vertical scar on his stomach and when found, he was wearing a green or khaki army-style long-sleeved shirt with German flags on both sleeves close to the shoulder. He also wore blue jeans, a brown leather belt and black trainers.

It is possible that the man had been drinking and he could have been out overnight, or at least from very early in the morning.

Police in Kettering are asking anyone who thinks they can identify this man to contact them as a matter of urgency.
