Politician defends States' work
The President of Alderney's States is defending his colleagues against complaints that they work too slowly and are not open enough.

Sir Norman Browse says much of the public dissatisfaction is unwarranted.

He says Alderney States members work hard and issue as much information as they are legally entitled to.

He says not all islanders understand that some details of negotiations over the island's breakwater were withheld, due to company confidentiality laws.

The best way to protect Alderney's Victorian breakwater has been the subject of debate for more than a decade.
