Car linked to hit-and-run
The dark green Volkswagen Golf recovered by police
The car was reported stolen on Friday afternoon
Police have released a photograph of a car they believe was involved in a hit-and-run incident which left a man in a critical condition.

Manjit Singh was hit at the junction of St Pauls Road and Mallin Street in Smethwick, West Midlands, on Friday evening.

The 31-year-old suffered head and leg injuries.

Police have recovered a dark green Volkswagen Golf car, registration J507 OAD, which had been abandoned in Baileys Lane shortly after the incident.

The car was reported stolen from St Pauls Road shortly after 1600 GMT on Friday.

Police want to hear from anyone with information, in particular the driver of a white Ford Sierra car which was seen in the area shortly before the collision.

Mr Singh was knocked down about a mile from the scene of another hit-and-run incident in which teacher David Evans was killed.

The 55-year-old was run over on a pedestrian crossing outside Shireland Language College on Waterloo Road last Tuesday.
