Actor denies pitchfork assault on boy
A TV actor from Nottingham frog-marched a suspected vandal to a police station using a pitch fork - a court has heard.

Nottingham Crown Court heard Glen Kinch, 42, caught some youths on his Sneinton allotment in April.

The jury heard his citizen's arrest of one of the boys exceeded "reasonable force".

Mr Kinch, who once played a policeman who collared Emmerdale's Mandy Dingle at her wedding, denies assault. The trial continues.

It is alleged he assaulted Derry McFarlane, 16, with a pitchfork after police found puncture wounds on the teenager's arms and knees.

The court heard the actor had suffered years of burglaries at his allotment before the incident happened.
