Baby killed in crash named
A six-month-old baby girl who died after a collision between two cars has been named by police.

Elisha Lachaal, from East Grinstead in West Sussex, was in a car with her parents when it was in a collision with another vehicle in Surrey on Friday.

Her parents and the man driving the other car were also taken to hospital.

An inquest into the girl's death is to be opened on Thursday.

Elisha was in a grey Volkswagen Golf with her parents when it collided with a Renault Laguna on Wilderwick Road in Dormansland at about 1515 GMT.

Treated for shock

Six ambulances were sent to deal with the crash outside the Coach and Horses pub.

The baby was taken to the East Surrey Hospital in Redhill with life-threatening injuries but on Saturday police revealed she had died.

Her parents, who were taken to the same hospital, were treated for shock.

The male driver of the Laguna was also taken to hospital but his condition was not thought to be serious.

A female passenger and another baby, who were in the car with him, were unhurt, police said.

Surrey Police are urging anyone with information about the crash to contact them.
