Man cleared of schoolboy's murder
Colin Maxwell
Colin Maxwell disappeared in 1984
A man has been cleared at the Old Bailey of killing a teenage boy 20 years ago.

Albert Newman, 56, from Hopeman, north-east Scotland, was mentally ill when he confessed to killing 13-year-old Colin Maxwell, the court heard.

The boy's body was found two years after he went missing from his home in Streatham, south London, in 1984.

A verdict of not guilty was recorded by the judge after the prosecution offered no evidence.
