Sex charge man remanded

A 39-year-old man has been remanded in police custody charged with abduction and unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 16.

Michael Sydney Clough, of no fixed abode, confirmed his name and date of birth at Harrogate Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Mr Clough faces 22 charges, including three of abduction and 13 of unlawful sex with an under-age girl.

No application for bail was made and he will appear in court again on Thursday.

The sex charges relate to alleged incidents from May 2003 to January 2004 in Milton Keynes, London and Harrogate.

The abduction charges relate to two alleged incidents in Harrogate in January 2004 and Hereford in October last year.
