St Annes beach
The thigh bone washed up on the beach at the weekend
A human bone has been found washed up on the beach at St Annes, Lancashire.

The bone is believed to be a femur belonging to a young man.

It was found at the weekend by a member of the public.

A Home Office Pathologist and an expert from the University of Central Lancashire have both examined the bone, and DNA tests are being carried out.

Lancashire Police said they are examining records of people who have gone missing from home or have been lost at sea.

They have appealed for anyone who may have information to contact them.
