A man facing trial for three counts of indecent assault has been found hanging in prison.
Kevin Murby, 47, was found hanging by his shoelaces by officers at HMP Nottingham on 22 January, a Prison Service spokeswoman said.
He was taken to Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he was put on life support, but died the next day.
Mr Murby was at risk of self-harm and was being monitored, a spokesman said. He had been on remand since 19 January.
The spokeswoman said that officers would only confiscate a prisoner's shoelaces if he were
considered an acute suicide risk.
