Motorists hit road death teenager
Daniel Lawrence
Daniel died trying to cross the A1
Several drivers may have unknowingly hit a teenage boy who died trying to cross the A1, say police.

Daniel Lawrence, 16, was killed at midnight on Saturday on the southbound carriageway, near Wetherby, Yorkshire.

Motorway police have spoken to the first driver but believe others may have unknowingly hit the boy.

They want to trace any motorists in the area at that time, especially the drivers of a white Ford transit van and a dark coloured saloon car.

The van is believed to have been driven by a white man wearing a suit, and the saloon by an Asian man with a beard, who was wearing a turban.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the drivers could be from any part of the country and urged them to get in touch.
