A £4.6m swimming pool and gym in Bradley Stoke opens to the public on Monday.
The building includes spa facilities and a 25m six-lane pool in an extension to the existing leisure centre.
Each of the 65 pieces of equipment in the new gym has an individual TV screen.
New changing rooms have also been built in the council-run facility and the whole site is fully accessible for disabled people.
Steve Evans, director of community services, said: "The new facilities are a cut above anything in the area.
"They are light and airy, and give you a sense of well-being."
An official opening ceremony for the centre will take place in February.
