Mosque in Gelsenkirchen
All three men had been at morning prayers at the mosque
A Turkish man has been arrested after shooting two people dead in a mosque, according to German police.

The attack happened shortly after morning prayers in the western town of Gelsenkirchen on Monday.

A police spokesman said the 59-year-old man shot the two men in the head before fleeing. The victims, aged 48 and 58, were both of Turkish origin.

The suspect, who was well-known at the mosque, was later arrested at his home. The motive for the attack is not clear.
