Witness appeal over pedestrian's death
Police are appealing for help after a man was killed as he walked along the Glinton bypass north of Peterborough.

Christopher Howard, 44, from Werrington in Peterborough, died when he was in collision with a silver Ford Transit Tourneo taxi in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Cambridgeshire Police were called at around 0215 GMT to the incident which happened on the A15 Glinton bypass, half a mile north of the B1443.

Mr Howard was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the taxi was uninjured.

Witnesses sought

Police say they believe Mr Howard was walking south from Market Deeping towards Werrington.

Pc David Paul said: "We would like to speak to anyone who used the A15 around the Glinton area in the early hours of Saturday morning. Did you see the pedestrian? Did you see a silver Transit Tourneo?

"We need to build up a clear picture of exactly what happened in the moments leading up to the collision and would urge anyone with any information - no matter how small or insignificant they think it may be - to contact the police."
