A man was due to appear in court on Monday after a stabbing in Gloucester.
Police were called to a house at the junction of Derby Road and Milbrook Street at 0230 GMT on Saturday.
On Sunday, a man was charged with wounding with intent and a second man was released while more inquiries were carried out.
The victim is in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where his condition was reported on Sunday to be "serious but stable".
