Two held over man's assault death

Two people are being questioned after a man died from an alleged assault at a house in Scarborough.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the Eastfield area of the town at 1645 GMT on Sunday.

The man, who was in his mid 30s, was taken to Scarborough hospital, but later died. He has not been named.

A local man and woman have been arrested. An investigation is under way and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
