Work to replace street lighting around Derby's Inner Ring Road is expected to cause traffic disruption over the next two months.
More than 200 lights will be replaced during the work which will begin on 2 February.
The lane closures are only expected to be for short periods at weekends and off-peak periods during the week.
The work is considered necessary because old lamp posts are reaching the end of their natural lifespan.
They are being replaced by lamps which are considered more environmentally friendly, because they emit less light pollution.
The lane closures will be on the A5111 from Kingsway to Raynesway.
