Residents say the park will be spoiled

Residents in part of Nottingham are taking legal action to try to force a review of plans for a new supermarket.
Permission has been given for Marks and Spencer to build a store in West Bridgford.
People living in the area are particularly concerned that the plans allow part of Bridgford Park to be dug up to provide 60 extra parking spaces.
The residents say their view has not been taken into account.
Under the plans, five tennis courts, the bowling green and the park pavilion, which is used by toddler groups, will be demolished.

It is a beautiful part of West Bridgford

The Central West Bridgford Community Association has applied to the High Court for a judicial review of Rushcliffe Borough Council's decision.
Association committee member Joyce Langdon said: "I've been walking my dog in the park for many, many years. It is a beautiful part of West Bridgford.
"This will spoil it."
In a letter sent to every Rushcliffe councillor, the association says: "We were dumbfounded at the bare-faced cheek shown by the officers in proposing to provide additional car parking to meet the needs of Marks and Spencer using land paid for by the rate payers of West Bridgford."
Rushcliffe Borough Council has not commented on the association's views.
