Car crash victim 'thrown 80 feet'
A man was catapulted 80 feet in the air after a car crash in Shropshire, ambulance workers said.

He was one of four men taken to hospital after the car they were in careered off the road, overturned and ended up in a field.

The accident happened at about 2130 GMT on Saturday on the A458 at Wooton, near the turning for Quatt.

The 18-year-old man thrown from the car was taken to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.

Back injuries

It is not known how badly he is injured.

Ambulance workers said a 19-year-old man was also thrown from the car.

He and two others, another 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old youth, were taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford where they are being treated for neck and back injuries.

Four ambulances were called to the crash scene, including one from the West Midlands.
