Man shot in street

A 27-year-old man is recovering in hospital in Liverpool after he was shot in the legs in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The man, whom police believe was targeted, was shot in Whitehaven Close, Everton near his home.

He is recovering from his injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said they were "keeping an open mind" about the motive for the shooting.
