Service for murdered teenager
Richard Barrington
More than 400 people attended Richard's memorial service
More than 400 people attended a memorial service for a Norfolk teenager who was murdered on New Year's Day.

A-level student Richard Barrington, 17, died after being attacked in Brundall in the early hours of the new year.

The special service was at Brundall church on Saturday morning.

Canon Bob Baker, who led the service, said it gave people a chance to gather and pray for everyone touched by the tragedy.

At a news conference on Thursday, four days after what would have been Richard's 18th birthday, his parents Peter and Jan Barrington said they need to know the circumstances of their son's death.

Mr Barrington urged anyone who knew what had happened the night Richard was killed not to protect others.

Since Richard's death, eight teenagers have been questioned and released on police bail.

Detectives trying to find Richard's killer were due to re-interview four of the eight on Saturday.

The other four were due to be questioned on Sunday.
