Man charged with stabbing

A man has been charged in connection with a stabbing which has left a man seriously ill in hospital in Gloucester.

Three people were arrested following the incident in Millbrook Street at 0230 GMT on Saturday.

One man has been remanded in custody charged with wounding and will appear before the city's magistrates on Monday.

The victim is in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where his condition was reported on Sunday to be "serious but stable".

The other two people being questioned have been released - one without charge and the other pending further inquiries.

Police are appealing for information.
