Water report shows supply cleaner
Tap
The Water Board is looking at increases in water use
Fewer Guernsey people are complaining about discoloured tap water, according to a report by the island's Water Board.

In its first annual report, the board said this was because its programme of re-lining the island's water mains pipes was having an effect.

The report also said that the island's water supplies did not have to be restricted during an unusually hot, dry summer, which showed its systems for ensuring supplies were working well.

However, the board said it was concerned that demand for water in the Bailiwick area over the past 12 months had been higher than predicted.

The board said it was looking at the reasons behind the increase in demand for water but had no definite explanation yet.
