Group formed to aid Congo
A group has been set up in Jersey to help people in a town in the Congo.

Chairman Reverend Jane Ilton spent a month in the Congo with her husband in September 2003 through her work at Jersey's St Saviour's Church.

As a result of her time there, she has helped to organised the Kindu Support Group, which intends to help women in Kindu town.

The group wants to raise money to support a training school in Kindu town to help teach women craft skills to help them to support themselves.

But Reverend Ilton said it also has an aim to help raise awareness of what life is like there.
